Proper Golf Attire For Men And Women

Almost any type of sport requires an individual to wear proper attire. It is in the rule book of each type of sport and it should be followed accordingly to prevent disqualification. Looking good in every game is a must since it can help boost self confidence and most especially, it keeps the player to feel comfortable all throughout the game.

Golf is no exception with observing proper dress code. You cannot just walk inside the perimeters of the golf course wearing slippers and neither will you be allowed to wear tee shirt while playing the game. You probably have noticed how formal the players looked and how properly groomed they are and that is how exactly it should be.

The sport golf is one of the most popular recreational activity and competitive sports in the world. Each participant uses a variety of clubs to drive a small ball into a succession of either 9 or 18 designated holes over a course which is designed to have many obstacles in as few strokes as possible. Golf is usually played by groups of two or four people who move throughout the course together with each participant taking turns to play his ball. The ball must be played as it lies but there is an exception to this. Any unusual circumstance wherein the ball is to be moved to a slightly better position is allowed.

The winner in this type of sport is the one who has used few strokes to complete the whole course. The golf course generally has 18 holes spread over a vast landscaped area that is designed to have a number of hazards such as water, rough sand traps or also known as bunker and trees to make the game more difficult. As the game has constantly been developed, the courses are even more difficult to play. Players need to have constant practice and must develop the value of patience and perseverance.

Wearing the right attire can help relax the mind of the players the same s having the right self defense weapon like the streetwise stun baton helps in relaxing the minds of an individual. Walking to distant areas under the heat of the sun sure does make the player to have a high temperature especially when he is unable to hit the ball correctly. The player needs to wear clothes that will not limit his swings. Women and men have specific dress codes that they need to follow similar to how the tazer for sale in the market have specific rules that individuals should learn and follow.

For men, they are required to wear collared shirts, the right pair of pants or shorts and a good pair of golf shoes. Shoes must have a soft spike to prevent from damaging the lawn. The shoes are still the same with that of men. Use of plain socks is preferred and they can wear a hat or a visor to protect them from the heat of the sun.

You see, these are all just simple rules that can help in making the player become successful in the sport. You need to be comfortable at all times that is why there are rules with regards to the right attire.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Course of Lake Manassas Virginia

As a golf course architect and planner, Robert Trent Jones has his name affixed to a myriad of golf courses across the globe. Indeed it is estimated that Trent Jones has his named associated with upwards of more than 450 actual golfing courses in 43 states and thirty four different counties in a career as a golf course mogul of nearly seventy years. There has been no shortage of U.S. Opens played on the sports golf courses that he built, designed or remodeled. But not until Robert Trent Jones International Golf Club opening in April 1991 did his name became associated officially any one specific set of golf links.

And as befits an architect of his magnitude, this golf course is exceptional – more than something special. A real one of a kind. The naturally rolling terrain by the shores of Lake Manassas presents a most special and endearing atmosphere that exudes one word and theme: golf and golfing. This set of land seems to have been waiting for a golf course to build on its presence. Indeed Jones, who personally designed the layout, called it one of the best areas of land on the globe for a set of golfing links, which he had ever seen or even dreamed of.

From these 1,100 acres Robert Jones created a golf sports masterpiece that rates with any of his finest works. The layout is true to Jones’ architectural philosophy of each and every hole, on the layout, being a hard par and an easy bogey. And with trees that allow the course to lie anywhere from 7240 to 5400 yards, that adage holds true for players of every handicap. The most scenic of holes is held by many to be the 9′Th, a stunning par 3 that sits alongside the lake itself. Two holes later, another wonderful par 3 appears. On this hole on Robert Trent Jones of Lake Manassas Virginia, the tee shot must be played directly over a large tract of Lake Manassas.

It must be said and emphasized that the greens of Robert Trent Jones club are large and contoured. Most are bordered by massive bunkers.

This course is a perfect blend of tournament course and country club. Built with the great hope of holding major championships, there is ample room for spectators. Yet is a far cry from a wide-open tournament course. Instead it has an air of privacy and seclusion.

With the namesake of Robert Trent Jones to this club, it has a lot to live up to. My all accounts and legends built on worth and substance it has not let this legendary golf course architect down.

Mental Toughness in Sport, Golf, Life, May Be A Load Of Rubbish!

We hear the phrase “become mentally tougher” or similar a lot of times don’t we? In fact I read and hear about it so much I’m almost tired of it. Heck I probably use it myself too often, it’s become really clichéd hasn’t it?

The thing is, it may not be true.

What happens when someone says you need to become mentally tougher? Well for starters the first thing it implies is that you are mentally too weak to compete at that particular level. After all, if you are told you must become tougher to win on tour then it means you are currently too weak to win on tour, right?

Do you like being called mentally weak? I know I don’t! Perhaps we Sports Psychologists should think about that?

I really don’t like the inference that a person’s mind is weak. I doubt very much that the problem is a weak mind. The reason the golfer (or anyone) is underperforming in a certain area is probably just a matter of mind control.

Let’s rule out experience first and presume that’s not the issue. After all if you have no experience of being in a certain situation then you may well fail to achieve your best. That’s not mentally weak it’s just a lack of experiential knowledge.

Take Rory who blew the Masters. Was he mentally weak? No, he wasn’t ready, but he learned from that experience and came right back to claim his first major. Strength from experience.

So if we presume a player has experience but keeps blowing it, then it’s a matter of mind control. NOT WEAKNESS!

The mind and body are one system, they work together not as separate units. If your body is experiencing a problem, like poor nutrition or dehydration, then the mind will suffer and be unable to perform at peak levels. Severe enough nutritional deficiencies or dehydration will lead to a real breakdown in thinking.

If the body posture is one of defeat, anger, frustration or any other negative, this WILL HAVE AN IMPACT on your thinking and emotions.

If the mind is not controlled and allowed to think poorly, then it has a direct effect on emotions, mood and most certainly on physical performance.

You are not mentally weak. You must learn to control what you can, both body and mind. Feed your mind and body properly with good nutrition and hydration, control your body postures and keep them HEAD UP POSITIVE.

Be aware of what thoughts are running through your mind and if you know they are negative and unhelpful, CHANGE THEM! Distract yourself, and then think of things that get you balanced again.

As you learn and become more proficient at Mind and Body Control, people will begin to call you Mentally Tough, but that’s OK, we’ll excuse them as we practice Mind Control Golf.

Golf – Also an Exciting Sport

The world of sports just gets more and more exciting and fun, just watching it gives you a ride of adrenaline and a passion for competition. That and all of what is drawn out to us from the cardboard advertisements and great sports commercials on television, sports just gets to you wherever you go. From the smallest to the largest of countries of the world, worldwide action of sports can reach you. But the fact that we are already at a very modern age that seeks blood pumping action from sports, raises a very interesting question, have golf left this category of our modern world of fun sport and become obsolete in terms of excitement and quality leisure time? No, of course not, just as how other sports get through the test of time, golf just soars high with the millions of fans screaming their hearts out in excitement but keeping silent as the golfer in the tournament hits another golf ball. The golf club hits the golf ball, and another fun and excitement filled competition have begun.

The thing about a golf game is that, it may not be as sweat driven and stamina draining compared to another sport like basketball or soccer, not as much a team play compared to what you have in hockey or football, and the audience reaction could be not as loud as what you have on a baseball game too. But uncovering the sheets of dense atmosphere behind a golf fan in a Tiger Woods tournament, we will get a similar tune of raging adrenaline and competitiveness as one would have in any other sport. I am a witness to this kind of situation myself. It was one sleepy and boring afternoon that I watched a golf game on my television, and to anyone’s surprise, was I still able to finish a whole hour and a half without falling asleep in the couch. All that time I was drawn to the next swing and the next hole and so forth that just kept me watching and awake, I blame it to the skill and seriousness these golfers have for the sport for keeping me at it, and yes it was really exciting to see who would win. Which just goes to show us how great a sport golf is to watch on television, then how much more on watching it for real, right?

I really never had a chance watch it for real though, all the busy schedule I have all week just forbids me of the pleasure of enjoying a golf tournament for real and not just on television. The closest encounter of golf I have ever made was these golf car parts we found in our old garage. But anyways, golf has proven to itself and as well as to people like me just how exciting it could be. I was not a fan of gold before that story I told you about happened, this time, I have become an avid fan of Tiger Woods myself, and I now always enjoy golf games on television. Sports really have different ways of expressing itself and golf just made a mark on it as one of the most appreciated game for me and even for the world.
